Biography

Waseem A. Khan is the Deputy CEO and CIO of private markets at Silk Invest Ltd., London. He has substantial experience in investing in both public as well as private markets.  Over the past 30 years, he has worked in global asset management at major financial institutions such as Wells Fargo Bank in Los Angeles, Citigroup and RBS Coutts in London, and Sovereign Wealth Funds in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi. He currently serves on the investment committee of the Silk Africa Food Fund and Boards of several food sector companies in Africa.

He has previously taught corporate finance and investment analysis at the Graduate Schools of Business at the University of California and the University of Colorado.  He has an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker & Mitoshi Ito School of Management (California), and PhD in Economics from Claremont University (California).  He also has a diploma in Business Management from Stanford Business School, and is a CFA charter holder.
