Biography

With 20 years of business and investment experience, Wael is the Founder and CEO of Feather Invest; one of Egypt’s leading Buyout and Turnaround investment firms focused on industrial turnarounds. Wael is also the Chairman & CEO of Taghzeya Foods; which is Feather Invest’s flagship turnaround investment in the industry of Halwa, Tahini, and Molasses.

In 2015, Wael Founded Feather Invest with the aim of building a firm that has the edge of combining industrial operational experience together with strategic, and investment practices to generate superior financial returns and create life changing experiences for the firm, and its diverse teams.

Today Feather Invest has total assets under its control of Approx. EGP 250 mm and is “en route” to reach approx. EGP 1 Bn in the coming 18 – 24 months.

Prior to his current venture, Wael has started a buyout practice based in Saudi Arabia in 2011, for one of Saudi Arabia’s prominent financial institutions to reach total Assets Under Management of EGP 7.5 Bn; mostly industrial and healthcare businesses.

Between 2000 and 2011, Wael has also served in a variety of international career positions at top rated international institutions; the Buyout team of the Abu Dhabi Investment Company (Sovereign Wealth Fund of Abu Dhabi), Booz & Company, and ExxonMobil.

Given his wide and diverse set of experience and skillset, Wael currently works with a number of prominent Middle East family conglomerates and government institutions on various nationwide initiatives, and frontier business ventures in the Middle East.

Wael holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo, and has an Executive MBA from one of the world’s top rated business schools – IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland and a Full Time MBA (focused on Entrepreneurship) from SDA Bocconi; Milan, Italy. Wael has also attended several executive programs on family business management, succession, High Performance Boards, and is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
