Biography

Temi is the Managing Executive: Strategic Business Initiatives and COO, working closely with the CIB Africa Chief Executive and is responsible for the day to day functioning of the business. In addition to this role, he is the Deputy Chief Executive for Absa Regional Operations (ARO) accountable for the growth of the CIB Pan-African franchise across the continent. He also has oversight and supervisory responsibility for countries in which only CIB operates, including Nigeria, Namibia and non-presence businesses.

Temi possesses a wealth of banking experience having held various senior positions in the Absa Group. He was previously Co-Chief Executive for CIB responsible for delivering the Pan-Africa Corporate and Investment Banking proposition to global, regional and local clients across the continent. Prior to that, he served as Head of Corporate Banking, Head of Corporate and Institutional Coverage, Foreign Exchange and Commodity Sales and Structuring, Equity Derivative Sales and Structuring in Absa’s Financial Institutions Group.

Prior to joining Absa, he was Managing Director of Peregrine Financial Solutions in Johannesburg. His appointment to Peregrine followed nearly three years as Head of Structured Products at Corpcapital Bank, also in Johannesburg. In addition, Temi worked at Credit Suisse Financial Products, London as Vice President and Head of Credit for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and then Vice President Derivative Sales for Africa Credit Suisse.
