Biography
SINDI MABASO-KOYANA Qualifications: Chartered Accountant South Africa. BCom and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (University of Natal), Introduction to Mining (University of Witwatersrand). Background: A former corporate executive, respected businesswoman in the investments industry. Sindi is the co-founder of African Women Chartered Accountants Association (AWCA). She later led the formation of the investment arm, AWCA Investment Holdings (AIH) which she currently chairs. She is the Co-Managing Partner of AIH Capital, the Private Equity arm of AIH. AIH has built a portfolio of solid investments in the Financial Services, Industrial and Technology Sectors where Sindi plays a role in the strategic and development growth of these businesses. Sindi is proud of the mission of AIH Group which drives financial inclusivity and financial independence of women. Her illustrious career has included being Managing Director of Viamax Logistics, a subsidiary of Transnet, Group Financial Director of Transnet, Executive Partner at Ernst & Young, amongst others. She has served as Non- Executive Director of large corporates including Listed entities where she has chaired the Audit and Risk Committees, Sustainability Committees and Remuneration Committees. These entities include the Public Investment Corporation MTN Group, Bidvest Limited, BMW South Africa, Futuregrowth, and a few others. She is a Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, Member of International Women’s Forum, Advisory member to the Antwerp Management school (Belgium) and Innsbruck Management Centre (Austria). She has delivered lectures include Duke University and Insead . Sindi is a renowned leader and champion of the development and growth of young women. She was named one of the Top 20 Most Powerful Women in South Africa and was a Finalist for the Businesswoman Award of South Africa in 2004. In 2013, Sindi was nominated by The CEO Magazine’s Most Influential Women in Business and Public Sector.
