Biography

Sara – Adelaide is currently the Head of Trade Services at the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, where she is responsible for Research and Advocacy, Capacity Building as well as delivery of Trade services to businesses.

In this role, she produces evidence-based research, offers policy advice, and connects with key stakeholders, including UK and Ghanaian businesses, government agencies, and other trade promotion organisations. As the Head of Trade Services, Sara-Adelaide helps manage a team who advocate strategies to influence government policies that promote an enabling business environment in Ghana. She leads on identifying opportunities and challenges for UK companies entering the Ghanaian market and vice versa. She also leads research and developing training programs to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in both countries build their skills and capacity for international trade.

Over the past five years Sara-Adelaide has led on the delivery of the Business Environment and Competitiveness Survey published by the UKGCC.
Sara-Adelaide served as the Project Manager for the delivery of several Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Department for Business and Trade, UK (DBT) funded programmes and projects. Over the past 15 months, she has led on managing a team of consultants delivering technical and managerial assistance to Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ministry of Finance, to support the reform of Ghana’s domestic revenue collection, including strengthening accountability mechanisms and providing the foundation for long term sustainable revenue generation.
Prior to her current role she garnered nearly fifteen years of experience in the banking sector, with specialisation in Finance, Trade and Foreign Operations, and Retail Banking.
Sara-Adelaide holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy from the Lancaster University, UK and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
She is currently undergoing an MSc in Development Finance from the University of Ghana.
