Biography

Peter Bartlett has more than 30 years of experience working in Emerging Markets and sits on the Board of several EM specialist firms, Investment Managers (like TLG Africa) and has a vast array of relationships in the EM fixed Income and Equity markets. In 1999 Peter founded Exotix, the leading Frontier investment banking and broking business, which has grown into a company employing 100+ professionals. At its peak Exotix generated revenues of over £35 million and made in excess of £8 million in profits for its investors. Peter remained a leading shareholder until March 2016. Peter re-joined the private investment advisory firm GML Capital, where he had worked in 1998,  in February 2017. At GML he focuses on hard currency fixed income EM portfolio management, in particular the launch of the Eastern and Southern Africa Trade Finance Fund, a JV between GML and the Eastern and Southern African and Trade Development Bank (“TDB”). This work and multiple other projects have provided him with a considerable knowledge of the private sector’s engagement in Sustainable Development Goals and Impact Investment throughout the Frontier Markets. Finally Peter is a world authority on Frontier Market investment banking with a strong following of clients and his expertise is in Special Situations, Impact Investing and illiquid markets, growing areas of interest globally.
