Biography

Joseph Eimunjeze is a Partner in the Banking and Finance, Capital markets, Tax, and Fintech practice groups of Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, a Tier 1 full-service commercial law firm in Nigeria. With over 15 years in active practice, Joseph has made significant contributions to his fields of practice. His expertise in the capital markets space includes advising on local and foreign capital-raising transactions through debt and equity issuances.

He was a key member of the team that advised the joint lead managers in respect of the Federal Government of Nigeria and several Nigerian banks’ Eurobond issuances in the last decade He also led the teams that advised various Nigerian corporates on bonds and commercial paper issuances. He is currently leading teams in the firm that are handling several domestic capital markets transactions involving bonds (secured and unsecured) and commercial paper issuances.

He is ranked by the IFLR1000 as a highly regarded – Leading lawyer and was most recently recognised by the Legal 500 EMEA as a key lawyer in Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practices. He recently worked as a counsel with the International Finance Corporation in its South African office, where he worked on various financing transactions for IFC across Africa.

In addition to Joseph’s accomplishments, he possesses an unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable financing within the capital markets and is dedicated to leaving a meaningful and lasting impact in the field. He is a prolific writer and has many publications on various legal issues to his credit.
