Biography

James Brice is the founder and Group CEO of EBS Advisory, the leading Emerging Markets sustainability adviser to institutional investors. His 20 years’ experience spans almost every sector of business and every global Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) standard. Prior to starting EBS, James established and oversaw the Sustainability and Integrated Reporting services for Grant Thornton from 2009 to 2012. This was preceded by a three-year period as global practice lead for Environmental and Social Risk Advisory with Marsh & McLennan. He was on the Sustainable Development Committee of the Institute of Directors (IOD) and as such intimately involved in the drafting of King III and best practice in the application of sustainability principles at board level. In addition, he was an advisor on the MSCI ESG Thought Leaders Council. James holds a holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (University of Cape Town, 1987 – 1991) and a Masters degree in Environmental & Civil Engineering (University of Witwatersrand, 2000 – 2001). In 2007, he completed his Programme in Management Development at the Gordon Institute for Business Science.
