Biography

Mr. Douglas Strong is responsible for Corporate Finance at Gerald Group. He is also Independent Chairperson of the Group’s HSEC Committee.

Mr. Strong is an internationally experienced, former senior bank executive and chartered accountant. He has extensive experience in project and structured finance in the mining and metals sector gained over 25 years. Mr. Strong has undertaken significant advisory, M&A, debt structuring, re-structuring and syndicated financing, involving origination and execution. He has managed mining and metals teams based in Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.

During his banking career, Mr. Strong worked for ANZ Investment Bank, London for over 10 years as Head of Mining and Infrastructure, covering EMEA and South Asia as part of the Global Project and Structured Finance Group, before joining Standard Chartered Bank as Managing Director Mining and Metals responsible for EMEA. At Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Strong built and managed a substantial business across all aspects of mining and metals and stages of company development. He has undertaken international assignments in South Asia (based in Mumbai) and Australia (based in Sydney). He has substantial experience of sustainability and HSEC for corporates and projects in the mining and metals industry.
