Biography

I have been active in the African financial markets for 20 years, with over 15 years of investment banking experience. Within a leading role, I have spearheaded and successfully concluded several landmark transactions in Zambia and other African markets, raising over US$2.5 billion. Sectors of advisory strength are FMCGs, Renewables, Infrastructure, Financial Services, TMT, Logistics and Agribusiness. I have also served on numerous boards, including those of the Zambia Development Agency and the Lusaka Securities Exchange. I am currently a member of the South African BRICS Council’s Financial Services Working Group.

Disruptive and a blue printer: through Pangaea and in my capacity, we have invested in the opening of the first Zambian: digital cinemas; Mugg&Bean; and Pizza Hut (Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe). We have also been shareholders in Arcades Mall and Microlink, one of Zambia’s original internet service providers

I am a frequent speaker at different fora and earned the reputation of a respected business leader both locally and internationally. In 2013, I was a runner-up for the Forbes Southern African Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2014, I had the opportunity to interview Sir Richard Branson at the Pangaea Entrepreneurship conference in Lusaka.

In 2015 I was selected, by the US Embassy in Lusaka, to attend President Obama’s visit to Kenya as one of two Zambian representatives. In the same year, I was also an invitee to the inaugural 100 Future Global Leaders’ Summit in Dallas anchored by President Bush Jr and President Clinton, with Mark Cuban as the keynote speaker.

In 2017, I was voted “Local Lead Manager” by Private Equity Africa. In the same year, 2017, Africa Report listed me as one of fifty up and coming Africans in the financial sector. In September 2018, I was featured on the cover of the European magazine, in the edition focusing on Africa. In August 2019, Capital Markets Africa carried on a profile section on me and the journey Pangaea Securities has embarked on since its inception 1994.
