Biography

San-Marie Greeff has 20 year’s of experience in the financial services industry. With her she brings a depth of knowledge in strategic, implementation and advisory roles. San-Marie is the Business Solutions Director for SANNE, based in Cape Town South Africa. Most recently, San-Marie was the CEO at Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI), a Collective Investment company (CIS) (part of the Sanlam Group), with R130bn Assets under Management and Administration and over 200 000 clients. She was responsible for the development and implementation of the business strategy based on local and international industry trends, building of a strong executive team with a culture of innovation and execution and providing guidance, leadership and collaboration to external and internal stakeholders.
She has a strong entrepreneurial ability, whilst being passionate about implementation and the execution on strategic initiatives and projects. The key initiative she has been involved in during her tenure at SCI, included the decision to and implementation of outsourcing the liability administration solution to Silica. This included the full business impact on the Sanlam Group, operational, financial and client solutions, as well as the Labour Relations Act (LRA) CCMA consultation process. She was also responsible for the transfer of Satrix business infrastructure from the JSE, upon the JSE selling its stake in Satrix to Deutsche Bank and Sanlam. This included the transfer of operational, financial and IT solutions.
She is a Chartered Accountant who previously worked at Cidel Financial Group, Standard Corporate and Investment Bank and KPMG. She holds memberships in the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and most recently was a member of the CIS Standing Committee of the Association of Savings and Investment in South Africa (ASISA).
