Biography

Dr. Hamdy is, currently, the General Manager and Director of Capital Markets Group (CapM) as well as a member of both the Executive Committee and ALCO Committee at Banque Misr, the second largest public sector bank in Egypt. The CapM and has assets under management of more than EGP 45billion. She also heads the Committee in charge of the management of the Real Estate assets of the bank. Prior to her current post, she served as Head of Business Development at the Arab African international Bank (AAIB), as well as Head of Retail Banking Group and earlier as Deputy General Manager of the Investment Division and Head of Foreign Branches.

Dr. Hamdy has over 30 years of extensive banking experience. She began her banking career at the Credit Department at AAIB and served later at different banking divisions such as project finance, remedial management, investment banking, retail banking, marketing and business development.

She is the chairman of Nile Fund Company for Development and Investment in the Nile Basin Countries, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Export Development Bank, Misr Capital, The Egyptian Company for Real Estate Investment, International Company for Touristic Development and a member of the Egyptian Capital Market Association, The American Chamber of commerce , Fixed Income Association, and Egyptian Investment Management Association, She was, also, a board member of Techno Gas Company, Egypt capital and represented Egyptian banks in VISA International Risk Advisors for the CEMEA region, a member of the World Studies Future Generation in Finland, and a member of the Egyptian Junior Businessmen Group. She has been a selected member of the International Who’s Who of Professionals for the year 2009.
