Experience
High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland
• 2022 – High Commissioner of the Republic Uganda to the United Kingdom of Great Britian, Northern Ireland and Ireland
• Represent Governor of Uganda on the Board of Commonwealth Secretariat one of 56 countries.
• Represent Uganda at the International Martime Organization (IMO).
• 2023 – United Kingdom having left the EU, strengthened further a strong diplomatic ties and mutual respect cultivated between Uganda and the United Kingdom.
• 2023 – Enhanced Military cooperations with the British counterpart in Uganda.
• 2023-24 – Worked with Lord Popat and the British counterpart colleagues to secure a further US$ 190 Million funding from UK Export Financing for Oil, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Free Trade Zones and further development of Uganda.
Enhanced number of tourists post-Covid to visit Uganda from 50 to over 1000 in one year, establishing Uganda as a safe and tourism destination.
Continued negotiations with the UK Aviation and Uganda Airlines to help establish direct flights between United Kingdom, Ireland to Uganda.
2024 – Ensured the high level visit from Development Minister in Ireland to Uganda to further secure funding for education and social development in the Karamoja region.
Ambassador of Uganda to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland and the Baltics States from November 2018 to date –
• November 2018 – Commenced discussion to increase FDI into Uganda, from the five Nordics countries & the Baltic States.
• January 2019 – Attracted over US$ 900 Million invested into Uganda in Agriculture, Energy and Tourism.
• September 2019 – Finland has submitted a response and a redrafted MOU that Kampala should consider before conclusion. Finland proposing to grant scholarships to Uganda
• September 2019 (NEABEC Forum in Helsinki, Finland) – Nordic East Africa Business Economic Conference. This is the first ever Investment Forum in Finland to launch the Ugandan Diaspora attracting Finnish Businesses to invest into Uganda. The planned Investment visit March 2020 to Uganda has been postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic
The Finnish Investment Fund agreed to finance Finnish investors interested in investing in Uganda through Finnfund Helsinki.
• November 2019 – Organised a high-level Swedish Energy Business delegation to Uganda to discuss with Uganda companies and government. The result is that AB Sweden Company is to build the Mirima-Kikagati-Nsongezi, a 132KV transmission line. (over 900m $ project)
• November 2019 – A high-level delegation for Green Energy taken to Uganda and held fruitful discussions with H.E. President Museveni in November 2019 along with Ministry of Energy, Finance, Investment.
• December 2019 – First ever High-level Nordics Ministerial Conference held in Dar-e-Salaam in December 2019. New focus on Africa.
• December 2019 – Oslo, Norway. Uganda participated in the first-ever Nordics Countries Investment Forum for Africa (NABA). It was agreed NABA would partner with SWEAC. This led to the participation in Kampala of the first-ever Uganda EU Investment Forum in March 2020.
• February 2020 – Herning, Denmark. Uganda successfully ensured Uganda’s participation with the Minister of Tourism in the major Tourism exhibition attracting tourist to Uganda. Uganda had the most tourist from Denmark 2019.
• February 2020 – Danish company setup a Chia processing plant in Uganda. Their products Chia seeds and Chia butter are now exported to the Nordics & the Baltic States countries. This model is to be replicated by the Nordic countries.
• March 2020 – Mission participated in the first ever EU/Uganda Investment Forum hosted by the HE the President in Kampala. Over 800 business delegates attended including in India and Emirates.
• March 2020 – SWEACC – Swedish East Africa Chamber of Commerce Investment Forum held in Dar es Salaam. Uganda raised funds for Industrial Research in Green Energy.
Raising Funds for Covid – 19 for Uganda – April 2020 to October 2020 during Lock-down, Uganda
• May 2020 – Denmark has extended support worth US$ 2.1 Million to the Ministry of Health through WHO Uganda and UNFPA Uganda towards the COVID19 response. Specifically support towards case management, surveillance and sexual and reproductive health during the pandemic. This includes help to get pregnant mothers to hospitals & refugees & Health Workers to stay safe!
An additional agreement with WHO of US$ 1 Million, for the procurement and distribution of Rapid Covid 19 tests. Focus for border posts (New Funds).
Furthermore, agreement of US$ 1 Million to WFP for food assistance to urban refugees in Kampala (New Funds).
Denmark approved reallocation of US$ 2 Million to Trademark East Africa towards their Safe Trade Facility assisting URA, Ministry of Health and a number of other government agencies. Activities include:
