Biography

Has over 20 years’ experience in fund management and 10 years of driving women economic empowerment; pioneered unit trusts in Kenya and grew the fund to $100 million mostly made up of local retail investors; one of the first female fund managers in the East Africa region and still holds the record for being the youngest female Managing Director of a non-family owned business responsible for $1 billion; founded a women network in finance in Kenya to create allyship amongst women in finance; founding Principal of AC Advisory where she independently advises the ecosystem on various aspects on gender lens mainstreaming, programming, network building, investment strategy and capital raising; Andia’s work has been recognized both nationally, on a Pan African level and globally reflected through awards, high profile speaking engagements and non-executive positions. Sits on the board of 2X Global; Canada’s Equality Fund; East African Educational Publishers and Sterling Investment Bank; executed direct (own funds) and indirect investments (through participation in OPES LCEF investment committee), provided investment advisory support to early stage businesses and supported linkages for women businesses to funding opportunities.
