Biography

With Kaizenvest since 2018, Nirav Khambhati’s focus is managing the firm’s investment portfolio in India and leading the firm’s expansion into Sub-Saharan Africa with an impact-first blended finance solution. Prior to that, he was with the Tata Group for over 20 years in various roles including as the Chief Executive Officer of Tata ClassEdge and Tata Interactive Systems, and Vice President – Chairman’s Office. Nirav Khambhati has led several international projects and collaborations in and served as Director on the Boards of companies within and outside India. He is the founding co-chair of the education track of the Impact Future Project and is a member of the steering committee of Council of Confederation of Indian Industries’ School Summit. Nirav Khambhati is a nominee of the Indian government on the governing council of the Jagran Lakecity University, Trustee on the Board of Global Schools Forum, and leadership chair of USAID’s innovative non-state edufinance internal working group. The British High Commission recognized Nirav Khambhati as a Young India Leader in 2013. He has been conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Arts (Management) for his contributions in the space of management, education, and technology. Nirav Khambhati speaks regularly at global education events where he passionately advocates the need for affordable non-state education, education technology and innovative financing mechanisms for promoting education access and quality. In July 2021, he published a paper on India’s edufinance success story and lessons for other emerging nations.
