Biography

Imran has over 15 years’ experience as a key strategist and investment professional at a leading North American investment fund where he helped oversee and actively manage a global long/short portfolio, including its African debt and equity holdings. He brings strong analytical and deal-structuring experience together with a proven track record of results. Subsequent to his tenure at the investment fund, Imran moved back to the Democratic Republic of Congo and opened Verdant Capital’s Kinshasa office, from where he covers Francophone West Africa, and has been working with and advising a range of fast-growing companies in various sectors of the economy including financial services, renewable energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and telecommunications, amongst others.

Imran holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Toronto, St. George Campus.
